About LSNO

History:

The Louisiana School Nurses Organization (LSNO) was formed in 1968 with these specific purposes/goals in mind:

  1. To stimulate increasingly effective School Nursing Services and thereby strengthening Louisiana's educational process through improvement of the health status of the students.
  2. To enable members to speak with a common voice on matters pertaining to School Nursing and School Health.
  3. To develop and promote standards for continuous educational opportunities for professional School Nurses.
  4. To stimulate School Nurse participation in all nursing and educational activities.
Membership:

LSNO has an average of 300 members across the state of Louisiana serving the more than 750,000 children in every public school setting. We care for ALL of the children of our state and service ALL needs, both regular education and those with medically fragile health conditions.
